Guarding The Heart: Proverbs 4:23

Setting boundaries is extremely important because it helps to protect us from hurt, anxiety, stress, trauma, etc. I am not saying that we should be closed off from the World, but we should be careful about what and who we give access to our spirit.

Proverbs 4:23 says: ”Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life.“

‭‭

In this verse the heart is the inner man, it is not the organ that pumps blood, but here in Proverbs the writer is talking about our innermost being: the soul, the will, our affections, and our mind. Our heart must be guarded with diligence and vigilance because it is so vulnerable to, fear, doubt, worry, and anxiety because of sin. Guard your heart with all diligence. Everyone and everything cannot have access to you. God bless in Christ.
